Abstract

The proficient use of English, especially speaking skills and fast response in communication has become an essential requirement in the context of globalization. Enhancing English speaking reflex for students at Tay Nguyen University is therefore an urgent need to meet the demands of human resource development. This study aims to investigate the students’ perception of their response time and agility in English communication and identify and analyze factors affecting English speaking reflex among the third-year students of the Faculty of Foregin Languages. The study employs random sampling to ensure objectivity and representativeness, thereby increasing the reliability of the findings. The study indicates that the English speaking reflex of third-year students at the Faculty of Foreign Languages is at a fairly good level, but still lacks flexibility, naturalness, and automaticity in communication. Analysis shows that speaking reflex is simultaneously influenced by multiple factors, including language knowledge, psychological factors, listening comprehension, and the communication environment. The harmonious integration of these factors is a key condition for developing rapid, natural, and effective speaking fluency.
