Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on the performance of coffee firms (CP) in Central Highland Vietnam, with an emphasis on the mediating effects of Green Product Innovation (GPI), Employee Commitment  (EC), and the moderating effect of Organizational Support (OS). The sample consisted of 182 managers and workers from coffee enterprises in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Lam Dong, who collected the data. It employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for testing. Findings The results show (i) a high positive direct impact of CSR on CP (β=0.388, p<0.001), and an indirect one through GPI (β= 0.173, p<0.01) as well as EC (β = 0.334, p < 0.001), where both factors are used as partial mediators, indicating strong combined influence with mediating effects on the relationship between CSR and CP. In addition, OS positively moderates the impact of GPI on corporate performance (β = 0.139, p < 0.05), whereas it does not have a significant effect on the EC–CP relationship. This paper contributes to the literature by clarifying two mediating mechanisms that lie between CSR and performance, revealing how CSR works, and indicating that corporate support can strengthen the benefits of green innovation. The results have some practical implications for small and medium enterprises in the agricultural sector on how to integrate CSR as a tool in their sustainability and innovative strategies.
